The 2022 model year also has a separate fire risk tied to the engine block heater: a mounting bracket for the wiring harness may be missing, allowing the wiring to contact the engine drive belt and sustain damage. When the block heater is plugged in, that damaged wiring can overheat or melt and ignite. On 2023 models, an incorrect door latch may have been installed in the front right passenger door, preventing that door from automatically locking. A door that stays unlocked can open during a crash, raising the risk of occupant injury.
