The 2022 model year also has a separate fire-related concern: a bracket that secures the engine block heater wiring may be missing, leaving the wiring exposed to contact with the drive belt. If the belt damages the wiring and the block heater is plugged in, the wiring can overheat or melt and start a fire in the engine compartment. On 2023 models, an incorrect door latch may have been installed in the front right passenger door, preventing that door from automatically locking. A door that stays unlocked can open during a crash and increase the risk of occupant ejection or injury.
