Infiniti Qx80 Recalls

The INFINITI QX80 has 11 recalls spanning 2013 through 2026, with the most serious affecting 2013–2014 models where the driver's frontal airbag inflator can block propellant flow or rupture during deployment, potentially sending fragments into the cabin instead of providing protection.

The most recent production years carry a recurring rearview camera issue. On 2025–2026 models, a software error in the infotainment system can cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen or fail to appear at all when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, reducing the driver's view while backing up. Multiple filings address this same underlying problem across the 2025 and 2026 model years, including a trim-specific variant affecting vehicles equipped with the Around View Monitor. The fix in each case is a software update.

The 2021 model year has a related but separate software fault where the audio/video control unit screen can deactivate entirely, again preventing the rearview image from displaying in reverse. The 2018–2019 model years share a similar backup camera display failure that can leave the screen blank while backing up.

On the mechanical side, 2020–2021 models equipped with the V8 engine have a fuel pump where the impeller can swell, bind, and cause the pump to fail. A failed fuel pump can stall the engine while driving.

Going back to early production, the 2014 model year has a label issue where the certification sticker lists an incorrect rear axle weight rating, which could lead to unintentional overloading. The 2013–2014 airbag inflator defect described in the lead remains the most consequential issue from that era.
