The 2001 model year, on manual transmission vehicles only, has a parking brake that can fail to self-adjust properly and may not hold the car on a slope when the transmission is left in neutral, allowing the vehicle to roll away. On 2002 models, the turn signal system can lose power to the external indicators without triggering a fault warning inside the cabin, meaning the driver sees normal-looking telltales while the exterior signals are not functioning.
