JAGUAR X-TYPE Recalls

The Jaguar X-Type has 3 recalls across the 2001-2004 production run, the most serious being a fuel filler cap on 2004 models that fails to seal against the filler neck and can leak fuel in a rollover, creating a fire risk if an ignition source is nearby. The 2001 model year, on manual transmission vehicles only, has a parking brake that can fail to self-adjust properly and may not hold the car on a slope when the transmission is left in neutral, allowing the vehicle to roll away. On 2002 models, the turn signal system can lose power to the external indicators without triggering a fault warning inside the cabin, meaning the driver sees normal-looking telltales while the exterior signals are not functioning.
