9 recalls across 5 model years
The Jaguar XE has 9 recalls covering 2016 through 2020 model years, with the most serious being a fuel rail end cap leak on 2018 models equipped with the 2.0L gasoline engine, where fuel vapor or liquid fuel can escape into the engine bay and ignite near hot engine or exhaust components.
The 2017 model year with the 2.0L diesel engine has a separate fuel concern: a leaking fuel return hose can drip diesel onto the road surface, creating a skid hazard for other vehicles. On the structural side, 2017, 2018, and 2020 vehicles that received a replacement rear rail assembly as part of a prior service repair may have missing spot welds that weaken the assembly, potentially allowing the rear bumper beam to detach during towing or the tow-bar to separate when pulling a trailer.
The 2019 and 2020 model years share a rearview camera issue where damaged wiring in the trunk prevents the camera image from displaying when reversing, reducing rear visibility. On 2019 models specifically, an earlier repair attempt for this wiring problem was found to be ineffective in some cases, requiring a second repair. The 2018 model year also has an instrument cluster that can go blank intermittently, leaving the driver without speed readouts or warning lights. The same instrument cluster blanking issue affects 2016 models under a separate filing.
