KAWASAKI NINJA ZX-6R Recalls

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has 5 recalls spanning 2019 through 2026, with the most serious being a crankshaft bushing defect on 2024-2026 models where the engine can seize and cut power without warning, raising the risk of a crash. The crankshaft issue stems from over-tightened crankshaft bolts during production that can damage a bushing and cause the engine to stall while riding. Earlier repair attempts on 2024 models did not fully resolve the problem, and an additional repair is required for motorcycles that already went through the initial fix. The issue covers all ZX-6R variants for those years, including the KRT Edition, KRT 40th Anniversary Edition, and ABS-equipped trims. Going back to the 2019 model year, engine vibrations can crack the horn wiring, leaving the rider without a functioning horn and no way to alert surrounding traffic to a hazard.
