2 recalls across 1 model year
The Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Drifter has 2 recalls, both affecting the 1999 model year, with the more pressing being a fuel hose that can rub against the fuel pump plate, wear through, and leak fuel in a location where a spark or open flame could start a fire.
The 1999 model year also has a fuel injection vehicle down sensor that can work loose from its mount during battery maintenance. This sensor is designed to shut off the engine and halt fuel delivery if the motorcycle tips over, so a dislodged sensor may leave the fuel system running when it should not.
