3 recalls across 2 model years
The Kawasaki Z900 has 3 recalls covering 2018 and 2019 model years, with the most serious affecting 2019 ABS-equipped models where debris inside the ABS hydraulic unit can cause a wheel to lock up during braking, raising the risk of a crash. On 2018 models, two separate issues exist. The rear brake hose and wheel speed sensor wire can be routed incorrectly and contact the spinning rear tire: a damaged brake hose reduces stopping power, and a damaged sensor wire can disable the anti-lock braking system. Also on 2018 models, the rear shock absorber's frame mount holes can become elongated if the shock bottoms out, degrading suspension performance and reducing stability.
