The Kawasaki Z900 has 3 recalls covering 2018-2019 model years, the most serious affecting 2019 ABS-equipped variants where debris in the ABS hydraulic unit can cause a wheel to lock up during braking, raising the risk of a crash.
Both 2018 recalls involve separate mechanical concerns. The rear brake hose and wheel speed sensor wire on 2018 models can be routed incorrectly so they contact the spinning rear tire, wearing through the hose and reducing braking power or disabling anti-lock brake function. On 2018 models, the rear shock absorber's mounting holes in the frame can become elongated if the shock bottoms out hard, causing the shock to work improperly and reducing rear suspension control.
