3 recalls across 3 model years
The Kawasaki Z900 ABS has 3 recalls spanning the 2016-2019 model years, with the most serious being a contaminated anti-lock braking system on 2019 models that can cause the front or rear wheel to lock up when the ABS activates, raising the risk of a crash.
The 2018 model year has an improperly routed rear brake hose and wheel sensor wire that can rub against the rear tire. If the hose wears through, it can leak brake fluid and reduce rear braking performance. On 2016 models, the rear shock absorber tie-rod frame mounts can deform and crack if the shock bottoms out hard, which can cause the rear suspension to collapse and make the motorcycle difficult or impossible to control.
