3 recalls across 3 model years
The Kawasaki Z900 ABS has 3 recalls covering the 2016-2019 model years, with the most serious being a contaminated ABS unit on 2019 models that can cause the front or rear wheel to lock up when the ABS activates, raising the risk of a crash.
On 2018 models, the rear brake hose and rear wheel sensor wire can be routed too close to the rear tire, allowing the tire to wear through the hose. A damaged brake hose leaks fluid and reduces rear braking performance. On 2016 models, the rear shock absorber tie-rod frame mounts can stretch and crack if the shock bottoms out hard enough, which can collapse the rear suspension and make the bike difficult to control.
