On 1995 models, a tool stored under the seat can work loose over bumpy roads, fall through a gap at the base of the storage compartment, and jam into the drivetrain, which can lock the rear wheel without warning. On the earliest production year, 1985 models have a defective rear brake pedal that can cause the rear brake to drag and progressively lock up under normal use.
