3 recalls across 3 model years
The Kawasaki ZX600 has 3 recalls spanning the 1985-1995 production run, with the most serious affecting 1993 models, where faulty welds on the swingarm can cause one or both rear suspension beams to break away from the main casting after a hard impact, leaving the rider with no rear suspension control.
On 1995 models, a loose tool inside the under-seat storage bag can fall through a gap in the compartment and contact moving drivetrain parts, locking the rear wheel and causing a sudden loss of control. The 1985 model year has a separate issue with a defective rear brake pedal that can cause the rear brake to drag continuously and eventually seize, also locking the rear wheel.
