4 recalls across 3 model years
The Lada Niva has 4 recalls covering 1981 through 1995, the most serious affecting 1981 models where corrosion in the floor and lower centre pillar can weaken the front seatbelt mounting points, reducing the belt's ability to restrain an occupant in a sudden stop or crash.
The remaining three recalls are compliance issues rather than mechanical defects. On 1995 models, the VIN plate in the window carries an incorrect number. On 1986 models, the brake fluid warning label is mispositioned and the tire and rim label is incorrect. On 1981 models, several additional labeling and equipment compliance standards for controls, tires, and seatbelts were not met.
