The Land Rover Classic has 1 recall affecting the 1987 model year, where the bottom of the fuel tank can corrode through in the area above the stone guard, allowing fuel to pool in the gap between the tank and guard and ignite if it contacts a heat or spark source. When the tank wall perforates, fuel seeps into an enclosed space where it can accumulate undetected. Any ignition source in that area can then set the pooled fuel alight, creating a fire risk beneath the vehicle.
