3 recalls across 4 model years
The Lexus GS300 has 3 recalls spanning the 2006–2019 production run, the most serious being a fuel pump failure on 2018–2019 models where the pump can stop delivering fuel while driving, causing the engine to stall unexpectedly and raising the risk of a crash.
The same fuel pump defect also extends to the 2019 model year through a separate campaign covering a broader range of vehicles. The pump can fail in the same way, cutting fuel delivery and stalling the engine in traffic.
Going back to the earliest years covered, 2006–2007 AWD models have a plastic pad embedded in the floor carpet that can contact the accelerator pedal and hold it in a partially depressed position rather than letting it spring back to idle when the driver lifts off the throttle.
