6 recalls across 3 model years
The Lexus LX 600 has 6 recalls covering 2022 through 2025 model years, with the most serious being a transmission software defect on 2025 vehicles where internal transmission damage can cause a sudden loss of drive power or a transmission fluid leak that can lead to a fire.
On 2023 models equipped with the 3.4L twin-turbo engine, metal debris from a manufacturing issue can damage the crankshaft bearings, causing the engine to run rough, fail to start, or stall while driving. The same crankshaft bearing defect also affects certain 2022 models with the same engine, carrying the same risk of an unexpected stall and loss of power while in motion.
The 2022 model year has two additional issues. A transmission problem can cause the vehicle to creep forward when shifted to neutral if the brakes are not applied, creating a risk of unintended movement. There is also a defect in the front passenger seat's occupant sensor that can incorrectly read an adult passenger as absent, causing the system to disable the front passenger airbag and leave that occupant without airbag protection in a crash.
