LINCOLN VERSAILLES Recalls

The Lincoln Versailles has 2 recalls covering its 1978-1979 production run, the most serious being a 1979 model year brake defect where a retaining pin connecting the brake pushrod to the brake pedal can fall out, disconnecting the pedal from the brakes entirely and leaving the driver with no braking ability. On 1978 models, a misrouted engine control wiring harness can press against the cruise control servo arm and hold it open, causing the throttle to stay engaged and the vehicle to continue accelerating. Stopping requires either stalling the engine by holding the brakes or switching the ignition off.
