3 recalls across 2 model years
The Maserati Quattroporte GTS has 3 recalls covering the 2014 and 2015 model years, with the most serious being two electrical wiring defects on 2014 V8 models where a faulty crimp or improperly seated battery cable insulation can cause the wiring harness to overheat and catch fire.
Both 2014 issues involve the alternator and starter motor wiring: one stems from a bad crimp in the harness, the other from a battery positive cable whose insulating cap may not be fully seated and whose routing in the engine bay may leave it unsecured. Either condition can allow the cable to short to ground, overheat the harness, and start a fire. The unsecured cable issue can also cause the engine to stall while driving. On 2015 models, a separate recall covers a low-pressure fuel pump resistor that can fail, shutting down the fuel pump and stalling the engine while the vehicle is moving.
