3 recalls across 3 model years
The Mazda GLC has 3 recalls covering 1977-1981 model years, the most serious being a salt-induced corrosion issue on 1977 models in eastern Canadian provinces where the steering idler arm pin can seize, making steering progressively harder to turn and eventually causing the pin to disintegrate entirely.
The 1978 model year has a seatbelt upper shoulder anchor bolt that can loosen and pull free from the body if it was improperly reinstalled during a prior repair, leaving the upper torso belt without a secure attachment point in a crash. On 1981 models equipped with air conditioning, a throttle positioner system can activate unintentionally and degrade the catalytic converter, causing exhaust emissions to rise above legal limits.
