Mercedes-Benz Amg A35 Recalls

The Mercedes-Benz AMG A35 has 7 recalls covering the 2020-2021 model years, with the most serious being a fuel injector leak on 2020 models where fuel escaping near hot engine or exhaust components can start a fire.

The 2021 model year has a separate structural concern: the right-side anchoring bar may be missing from the rear-seat child seat ISOFIX bracket, meaning a child seat attached to that anchor point cannot be properly secured in a crash. On 2020-2021 models, the multimedia system software can cause the backup camera display to go black or reboot on startup, leaving the driver without a rear view while reversing. The 2020-2021 model years also have a recall involving the automatic emergency call system, which can fail to connect to emergency services after a crash, potentially delaying response.

The 2020 model year carries additional issues. A separate software error can cause the rearview camera to stop displaying its image entirely. There is also a related eCall system defect where, rather than failing to connect, the system may dispatch emergency responders to the wrong location after a crash. Rounding out the 2020 recalls, these vehicles may not have been supplied with the inspection gauge needed to check rear brake pad wear, and the owner's manual may omit instructions for using it, making it harder to detect worn pads before braking performance degrades.
