The Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK55 has 3 recalls, all centered on the same defect: the sunroof glass panel on 2003–2005 model years can lose its bond to the sliding roof frame, detach from the vehicle while in motion, and become a hazard to surrounding traffic.
The bonding between the glass panel and its frame can deteriorate over time, allowing the panel to separate entirely. When it does, the glass can fall onto the road or into the path of other vehicles. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why multiple recall campaigns address the same underlying problem across the 2003–2005 model years.
