4 recalls across 4 model years
The Mercedes-Benz AMG E55 has 4 recalls, all affecting 2003–2006 model years, and all involving the same defect: the glass sunroof panel can lose its bond to the sliding roof frame, detach from the vehicle while in motion, and become a road hazard for surrounding traffic.
All four recalls describe the same underlying issue across the 2003–2006 production run. The adhesive bonding between the sunroof glass and its frame can deteriorate over time, allowing the panel to separate from the roof. A detached panel can land in the path of following vehicles or strike pedestrians nearby.
