4 recalls across 3 model years
The Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE 53 4MATIC has 4 recalls covering 2023-2025 model years, with the most serious being a steering coupling bolt that may not have been fully tightened on 2023-2024 vehicles, allowing the coupling to work loose from the steering rack and cause a sudden loss of steering control.
The 2024 model year has a separate issue where battery management software can cut drive power without warning, leaving the vehicle without propulsion in traffic. On 2023 models, a prior repair performed under an earlier recall may have introduced a new problem: an incorrect fuse box installed during that service can cause a sudden loss of drive power or knock out critical systems including the airbags and instrument cluster.
The 2025 model year has a lower-severity recall involving the pedestrian alert system, where a software error causes the vehicle to emit the wrong warning sound while reversing, which may not effectively alert pedestrians that the vehicle is moving backward.
