3 recalls across 4 model years
The Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS has 3 recalls covering 2022 through 2024 model years, with the most serious being a faulty 80-amp fuse on 2023-2024 vehicles that can fail and cut drive power or disable the restraint systems and instrument cluster without warning.
The 2022-2023 model years share a separate drivetrain software error that can also cause a sudden loss of drive power, raising the risk of a crash. On 2022 models equipped with a heated leather steering wheel, a software issue disables the hands-off detection function, which prevents the driver assistance system from issuing steering wheel grab warnings and stops the vehicle from automatically contacting first responders if the driver becomes incapacitated.
