3 recalls across 4 model years
The Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS has 3 recalls covering 2022 through 2024 model years, with the most serious being a faulty 80-amp fuse on 2023-2024 vehicles that can fail and cause a sudden loss of drive power or knock out the airbag system and instrument cluster.
The 2022-2023 model years share a separate software error in the electric drivetrain that can also cut drive power without warning, raising the risk of a crash. On 2022 models equipped with a heated leather steering wheel, a software issue disables the hands-off detection function, which prevents the driver assistance system from issuing steering wheel grab warnings and stops the automatic emergency call feature from contacting first responders if the driver becomes incapacitated.
