The Mercedes-Benz C350 has 11 recalls covering 2010–2015 model years, with the most serious being Takata airbag inflator defects across all years in the production run, where the passenger-side inflator can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.

The airbag inflator issue spans the entire 2010–2015 production run and represents multiple overlapping recalls. On 2010–2011 models, both the driver-side and passenger-side frontal inflators are affected, with the driver-side inflator capable of rupturing and throwing metal fragments in a crash. The passenger-side inflator on 2010–2011 vehicles was initially subject to a regional recall covering high-humidity states, then expanded. The 2012 and 2013 model years have separate passenger-side inflator recalls, also tied to high-humidity state registrations, with the same rupture and fragmentation risk. On 2014–2015 models, the passenger-side inflator recall broadens beyond regional restrictions. Across 2012–2015 models, there is a separate concern where the driver airbag can deploy without a crash, raising the risk of injury and loss of vehicle control. Owners of coupe-bodied 2012–2015 vehicles should also be aware that an incorrect passenger airbag may have been installed during a prior repair attempt, meaning the bag may not perform properly in a crash.

The 2013 model year has a steering coupling bolt that may not have been tightened adequately, which can cause a complete loss of steering. On 2013–2015 vehicles, a software fault in the emergency call system can report an incorrect vehicle location to emergency responders, potentially delaying help after a crash.

Going back to 2010–2011 production, a poor electrical ground connection can cause the tail lights to dim or go dark entirely, reducing visibility to drivers behind.
