Mercedes-Benz C450 Recalls

The Mercedes-Benz C450 has 5 recalls covering the 2016-2017 model years, with the most serious being an electrical fire risk on all 2016-2017 vehicles where the starting current limiter can overheat and melt surrounding components, potentially starting a fire.

The 2016 model year carries the remaining four recalls. The panoramic sunroof on certain 2016 vehicles can lose its glass panel while driving, creating a hazard both inside the cabin and for other traffic. A separate but related issue affects the front roof panel on 2016 models: the adhesive bonding it between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof can fail, allowing the panel to separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard. A follow-on recall addresses cases where an earlier repair for that same front roof panel was not bonded correctly, leaving the same separation and road hazard risk if the prior fix was performed. There is also a software fault in the emergency call system on 2016 vehicles where the date, time, and resulting location data transmitted during an emergency call can be inaccurate, which may cause responders to be directed to the wrong location.
