The Mercedes-Benz CLA 350 4MATIC has 1 recall affecting 2026 model year vehicles, where a defect in the front passenger seatbelt retractor can leave the belt locked in a retracted position, making it impossible for the passenger to pull the belt out and buckle up, leaving them unrestrained in a crash. On affected 2026 models, the retractor's automatic locking function, normally used to secure a child seat, fails to disengage when not needed. Because the belt cannot extend, a front passenger cannot fasten it at all, removing their primary crash protection entirely.
