7 recalls across 5 model years
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Class has 7 recalls spanning 2013 to 2026, with the most serious affecting 2016 models where a clutch disk can separate from its hub, cutting drive power to the wheels and raising the risk of a crash.
The 2026 model year has a recall where the front passenger seatbelt buckle can become blocked after the automatic locking retractor is used, leaving the front passenger unable to fasten their belt. On 2018 models, the passenger seat sensor that detects a child seat in the front can fail to suppress the airbag, meaning the airbag could deploy toward a child in a crash. Also on 2018 and 2019 models, a software fault can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on the display when reversing, reducing visibility behind the vehicle.
Going back to 2013, the power steering control unit can corrode and allow moisture inside, causing the unit to fail and steering effort to increase sharply, particularly at low speeds. The 2016 model year also has a side marker lamp light conductor that can be misaligned, causing the lamps to fall out of compliance with lighting standards.
