4 recalls across 1 model year
The Mercedes-Benz CLS400 has 4 recalls all affecting the 2015 model year, the most serious being a rubber hood seal that can fall into the engine compartment and contact exhaust components, raising the risk of an engine fire.
A second recall covers a closely related issue where a rubber seal can drop into the engine bay and contact either engine or exhaust parts, again creating a fire risk. Both seal-related issues affect 2015 models. The 2015 model year also has LED tail lights that can fail to illuminate on the sides, making the rear of the vehicle harder for other drivers to see and raising the risk of a collision. On the electronics side, a software fault in the emergency call system on 2015 models can cause the system to report an incorrect date, time, and vehicle location when a crash triggers an emergency call, which can delay first responders reaching the scene.
