Mercedes-Benz E63 Recalls

The Mercedes-Benz E63 has 6 recalls covering 2010 through 2019, with the most serious being a driver airbag that can deploy without warning on 2012-2016 models, raising the risk of injury and causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The 2010-2011 model years have a separate airbag concern: the driver frontal airbag inflator can rupture during deployment, sending metal fragments into the cabin and potentially injuring the driver or passengers. On 2019 E63 AMG Wagon variants, an incorrect driver airbag and software combination can cause the restraint system to perform incorrectly in a crash.

Two recalls involve a rubber hood seal that can fall into the engine compartment and contact hot exhaust components, creating a fire risk. One affects 2013-2015 models and the other covers a narrow window of 2016 production. The 2013-2016 model years also have a software fault in the emergency call system where the reported date, time, and vehicle location can be inaccurate, which could delay emergency responders reaching the scene of a crash.
