3 recalls across 2 model years
The Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 has 3 recalls covering 2023 and 2024 model years, with the most serious being a faulty 80-amp fuse on 2023-2024 vehicles that can fail and cause sudden loss of drive power or disable the airbags and instrument cluster, raising the risk of a crash or injury.
On 2024 models, a separate software issue in the battery management system can also cut drive power without warning. Both the fuse and battery software issues produce a similar result for the driver: the car can lose propulsion unexpectedly while in motion.
On 2023 models, energy-absorbing inserts in the roof frame may not be properly secured. If the side curtain airbags deploy in a crash, those loose inserts can break free and strike occupants inside the cabin.
