3 recalls across 3 model years
The Mercedes-Benz GL Class has 3 recalls covering 2013 through 2016 model years, with the most serious being a 2016 model year issue where the front passenger seat sensor can fail to detect a small-statured occupant sitting on the edge of the seat, causing the passenger airbag to not deploy in a crash.
The 2013 model year has a separate restraint concern: second-row seatbelt anchors may not have been fully tightened during assembly, meaning the belt can fail to hold the occupant in a crash. On 2015 models, the daytime running lights can be switched off by the driver in a way that does not meet Canadian lighting standards, reducing how visible the vehicle is to other drivers during the day.
