5 recalls across 4 model years
The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC has 5 recalls covering 2023 through 2026 model years, with the most serious being a steering coupling bolt that can work loose on 2023-2026 vehicles, allowing the steering coupling to separate from the rack and causing a sudden loss of steering control.
On the structural side, 2023-2025 models equipped with a panoramic sunroof have a C-pillar that may not absorb enough energy when a rear occupant's head strikes it in a crash, raising the risk of head injury to rear passengers. The 2026 model year has a separate restraint issue: the center rear seat belt may have been installed without the child seat locking function, meaning a child safety seat may not be held securely in a crash.
The 2025-2026 model years have an infotainment control unit that can reset while driving, causing the instrument panel display to go blank and taking the speedometer and warning indicators off-screen. On 2023 models only, the headlights are missing adjustment prevention caps, which can allow the aim to be changed and reduce forward visibility at night.
