3 recalls across 3 model years
The Mitsubishi Diamante has 3 recalls spanning the 1993-2002 production run, the most serious affecting 2002 models where the engine wiring harness sits too close to the exhaust heat shield, causing the insulation to melt and the engine to run erratically or stall without warning.
The 1999 model year has a parking brake screw that can become brittle and break, dislodging the retaining clip for the parking brake shoe. When this happens, the parking brake can drag while driving or fail to hold the vehicle when parked. Going back to the earliest production, the 1993 model has rear seatbelt anchor bolts that were not tightened to the correct torque at the factory, meaning the anchor can pull free during a sudden stop or crash and leave the occupant without effective restraint.
