3 recalls across 3 model years
The Mitsubishi Diamante has 3 recalls spanning the 1993-2002 production run, the most serious affecting 2002 models where the engine control wiring harness sits too close to the exhaust heat shield, causing the insulation to melt and potentially stalling the engine without warning.
The 1999 model year has a separate issue with the parking brake: a screw holding the brake shoe retainer clip can become brittle and break, allowing the clip to dislodge. This can cause the parking brake to drag while driving or fail to hold the vehicle when parked. Going back to the earliest production, the 1993 model year has a rear seatbelt anchor bolt that was not tightened to the correct torque at the factory, meaning the belt anchor can pull free in a sudden stop or crash and leave the occupant unrestrained.
