2 recalls across 1 model year
The Nissan 300ZX has 2 recalls, both affecting the 1984 model year, with the more serious involving the brake master cylinder's proportioning valve, where a retaining clip can work loose after repeated hard braking and allow internal valve components to eject, causing brake fluid loss and partial or complete brake failure.
The second recall covers a deformed inner hood panel that can misalign the secondary hood latch, leaving it with too little engagement to hold the hood closed. If the primary latch is also not fully secured, the hood can fly open at highway speeds, blocking the driver's view entirely.
