The Nissan D21 Pick Up has 3 recalls spanning the 1983-1995 production run, with the most serious affecting 1994 models where the seat belt buckle latch plate can allow the belt tongue to slip free during a crash or hard stop, leaving the occupant unrestrained. On 1995 models, the metal contact inside the rear lamp socket can shift or separate from its plastic housing, causing the brake light or turn signal to stop functioning and leaving the truck invisible to following traffic during stops or lane changes. Going back to the earliest production, 1983 models have a compliance recall related to incorrect tire and rim labeling.
