4 recalls across 6 model years
The Nissan NV200 Taxi has 4 recalls covering 2014 through 2019 model years, with the most serious affecting 2017 vehicles where a defect in the mechanical key ignition system can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly while driving, raising the risk of a crash.
The 2014-2016 model years have a recall involving the passenger seat occupant classification sensor, which can misread the front passenger and cause the frontal airbag to not deploy as intended in a crash, leaving that occupant with less protection. On 2014-2019 vehicles, a fuel tank temperature sensor harness can be routed incorrectly, wearing through the wiring and blowing the fuel pump fuse, which cuts fuel delivery and can stall the engine while driving. The 2019 model year has a separate issue where the backup camera can fail to display an image when reversing, removing visibility behind the vehicle.
