The Nissan Sentra SE-R has 1 recall covering the 2002 model year, where the driver-side floor mat can shift forward and catch the accelerator pedal, preventing it from returning to idle after being pressed and leaving the driver unable to reduce engine power. If the mat traps the pedal in a depressed position, the vehicle continues to accelerate even after the driver lets go, raising the risk of a crash. The affected mats were installed either at the factory or by a dealer as approved accessories.
