NISSAN X-TRAIL Recalls

The Nissan X-Trail has 3 recalls covering the 2004-2006 model years, with the most serious being a passenger airbag inflator defect on 2004 models where excessive pressure during deployment can rupture the inflator and send metal fragments toward occupants. The same inflator failure can also damage the airbag module and prevent it from deploying at all in a crash. The 2005 and 2006 model years share a separate fuel filler pipe issue where corrosion can perforate the pipe and allow fuel to leak onto the ground during or just after refueling, creating a fire risk if an ignition source is nearby.
