6 recalls across 3 model years
The Oldsmobile Intrigue has 6 recalls covering the 1998–2000 model years, with the most serious being a missing heater hose clip on 1999 models that can allow the hose to wear through, leak coolant onto the hot exhaust manifold, and start an engine compartment fire.
The 1998–1999 model years share a separate fire risk: engine oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold can ignite. The 1998 model year also has an ignition switch that can slip out of the "run" position if the key ring carries extra weight or the vehicle hits a bump, cutting engine power, power steering, and power braking while driving. On the safety restraint side, 1998 models have rear shoulder belts that can twist and jam in the retractor, leaving the belt unusable in a crash.
The two remaining recalls are compliance issues. On 1998 models, the English owner's manual omits required information about headlamp aiming. On 2000 models equipped with the 3.5L engine, the emission control label is incorrect.
