PEUGEOT 504 Recalls

The Peugeot 504 has 3 recalls spanning the 1975-1979 production run, with the most serious being a brake booster defect on 1978 models where a seized piston can prevent the brake pedal from returning to its normal position after braking, leaving the brakes partially applied. On 1979 models equipped with optional ARA air conditioning, an incorrectly routed wire in the system can short-circuit and start a fire. Going back to the 1975 model year, front seat mounting bolts can be incorrectly positioned and insufficiently tightened, allowing the seat to shift or break loose in a crash.
