The 2020 Piaggio MP3 500 has two recalls, both affecting the braking system in ways that can reduce stopping power and raise the risk of a crash. In the first issue, the brake lines can release hydrogen into the brake fluid, which weakens the brake lever's ability to activate the brakes. In the second, contamination from the brake hose fittings can degrade brake fluid performance, requiring significantly more force on the lever or pedal to slow the scooter. Both conditions affect how confidently and quickly the rider can bring the vehicle to a stop.
