Summary
The Plymouth Breeze has 3 recalls covering 1996 through 1999, with the most serious affecting 1999 models equipped with the 2.4L engine, where the high-pressure power steering hose routes through a high-heat area, ages prematurely, leaks fluid, and can start an engine compartment fire.
On 1998 models, a right rear brake tube can rub against an exhaust system clamp, wear through, and leak brake fluid. Because the braking system splits diagonally, losing one circuit extends stopping distances without warning. On 1996 models, a calibration error may have disabled part of the evaporative emissions monitor, causing those vehicles to fall out of compliance with Canadian exhaust emissions standards.
