The Plymouth Fury has 3 recalls spanning the 1972-1976 production run, the most serious affecting 1972 models where a multi-connector at the firewall can separate and cut all electrical power to the engine, lights, and accessories, causing the vehicle to shut down while driving. The 1974 model year has a tire recall covering vehicles equipped with Firestone HR78-15 steel-belted radial whitewall tires that may not meet high-speed performance standards, raising the risk of tire failure at speed. On 1976 models, an incorrect exhaust gas recirculation vacuum amplifier was installed, which affects emissions system operation.
