7 recalls across 5 model years
The Plymouth Grand Voyager has 7 recalls spanning the 1989–1997 production run, with the most serious being a 1997 model year issue where tire beads on P215/65R15 Goodyear Conquest tires mounted on steel wheels can be cut during mounting, causing sudden and unexpected air loss while driving.
The 1996 model year has rear bench seat bolts that can become brittle and break, allowing the seat to separate from its riser in a sudden stop or crash. On 1994 models sold in Ontario and Quebec, malformed lug nut seats on the wheels can cause wheel nuts to lose torque and a wheel to separate while driving. The 1991 model year carries three separate recalls: the steering wheel armature can crack and separate from the column hub, removing steering control without warning; liftgate strut bolts can separate under pressure and drop the liftgate onto anyone standing below it; and the first-row rear seat belt anchor hook can detach from its body mount, while seat belt buckle covers can dislodge and cause the release button to stick, leaving the buckle only partially latched in a crash. Going back to the earliest production, the 1989 model year has inboard front seat belt buckle straps that can fatigue and fail near the anchor point, increasing the risk of injury to front occupants in a sudden stop or crash.
