4 recalls across 2 model years
The Plymouth Neon has 4 recalls across the 1995 and 1998 model years, with the most serious being a 1995 steering column coupler that can disconnect after a hard hit to the undercarriage, leaving the driver with no ability to steer.
The 1995 model year also has two brake-related recalls. The rear anti-lock brake master cylinder can ingest air through a faulty seal, producing a spongy pedal or partial brake failure. Separately, the fuel and rear brake tubes can corrode where they contact a rubber isolator, which can cause brake fluid loss and reduced stopping power, and may also lead to fuel leaking near the undercarriage. On 1998 models, the rear suspension crossmember may be missing spot welds, which can cause structural cracking in the body and reduce protection for occupants in a rear collision.
