4 recalls across 2 model years
The Plymouth Neon has 4 recalls covering 1995 and 1998 model years, with the most serious being a 1995-only steering column coupler that can disconnect after a hard impact to the undercarriage, leaving the driver with no steering control.
The 1995 model year also has two brake-related recalls. The anti-lock brake master cylinder can allow air into the system, producing a spongy pedal feel or partial brake failure. Separately, the fuel and rear brake tubes can corrode where they contact a rubber isolator, which can cause fuel to leak or reduce braking capacity. On 1998 models, the rear suspension crossmember may be missing spot welds, leading to structural cracking in the body and reduced protection in a rear collision.
