2 recalls across 3 model years
The Pontiac G5 has 2 recalls covering 2007–2009 model years, the most serious being a fuel pump seal defect on 2007–2009 vehicles originally sold or registered in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, or Texas, where fuel can leak near an ignition source and start a fire.
The second recall affects only the 2008 model year and involves ignition switch service replacement parts. The switch can unintentionally rotate from the "run" position to "accessory" or "off," cutting power to the engine and disabling systems like power steering and airbags. A heavy keychain or a jarring event like a pothole or off-road driving can increase the likelihood of the switch moving out of position.
