PONTIAC PURSUIT Recalls

The Pontiac Pursuit has 4 recalls, all affecting the 2005 model year, with the most serious being an electric power steering defect where assist can cut out without warning while driving, leaving the driver with significantly heavier steering effort to maintain control. The 2005 model year also has an ignition switch defect where added weight on the key ring, or a jarring event like a rough road, can cause the key to move out of the run position, shutting down the engine and disabling power steering and brakes while the vehicle is in motion. The remaining recall, lower in severity, involves headlamp internal shields that can come loose and cause additional glare visible to oncoming drivers, a compliance issue under Canadian lighting standards.
