2 recalls across 5 model years
The Pontiac Solstice has 2 recalls covering the 2006–2010 model years, both involving the passenger seat sensor that determines whether the front passenger airbag should deploy — a damaged sensor can suppress the airbag in a crash, leaving the front passenger without that protection.
The sensor in question is a flexible mat built into the passenger seat. Over time it can bend and become damaged, causing the system to incorrectly read the seat as unoccupied or occupied by a child and shut off the airbag. This issue affects all model years from 2006 through 2010.
