PORSCHE 914 Recalls

The Porsche 914 has 1 recall affecting the 1970 model year, where water collecting on top of the battery in four-cylinder models can mix with battery acid and corrode nearby fuel hoses, causing a fuel leak and engine compartment fire. When the battery cover is missing, damaged, or not seated properly, rain or car wash water sits directly on the battery and forms a corrosive solution that eats through the fuel hoses routed nearby. A leaking hose can then drip gasoline onto hot engine components and ignite.
