The Porsche 924 has 1 recall affecting the 1982 model year, where a rear spring plate (radius arm) can crack and break, causing the corresponding rear wheel to lose its lateral alignment and the driver to lose control of the vehicle. When one of these spring plates fails, the rear wheel it supports is no longer properly located, meaning the wheel can shift unpredictably under the car while driving. That kind of sudden geometry change at the rear axle can make the vehicle very difficult to correct before it goes off course.
