The Porsche Boxster S has 3 recalls spanning 2001 to 2014, with the most serious affecting 2013-2014 models where the rear axle carrier side sections can fracture and cause sudden loss of vehicle control. On 2011 Boxster Spyder models, the locking hook on the removable soft top sun shield can fail to fully engage the catch on the windscreen frame, allowing the sun shield to fly open at speed and obstruct the driver's view. On 2001-2004 models, headlights may be improperly aimed, either failing to illuminate the road ahead adequately or creating glare for oncoming drivers.
