When these joints give out, the driver loses the ability to steer or handle the car predictably. The 2004 model year is covered by both filings, while the 2005 model year is covered by the broader of the two. The remedy addresses the same underlying defect across the full production run: corroding or mechanically stressed joints that can no longer hold the suspension geometry in place.
